In depth

Verdict

Eden Rock won first time out last term and has to be of interest on his debut for Pat Eddery today but preference is for Blythe Knight, who is taken to confirm Lincoln superiority over Capable Guest. The last mentioned ran as well as could have been expected at Redcar in finishing third behind the selection but a 6lb pull for just over four lengths should not be enough to see him reverse the form. Audience (fifth), Mine (eighth), Dansili Dancer (ninth) and several others behind that day also try to take on John Quinn's six-year-old again but there is no real reason why any of them should reverse running. Clive Brittain's Bahiano has been in good form in Dubai and could be of interest on his return too the UK, while Red Spell has been performing with credit on sand and could be of interest back on turf although he does seem to be a shade high in the weights at present. Gerard Butler's reappearing Prime Number is another worthy of a mention but Blythe Knight showed improved form in the Lincoln and is taken to follow up here.
