Verdict

Pic Up Sticks ran better at Salisbury last time and Brendan Powell's gelding has solid claims off the same mark today but he may be booked for a place at best and preference is for Comptonspirit, who gets the vote over Equuleus Pictor. The last mentioned has been running consistently well of late and has to be considered but he may be a shade high in the weights and looks booked for a place at best. Doubtful Sound has been in good form in sellers and claimers of late but this looks tougher for him, while Bold Argument has harshly been raised 6lbs for his narrow success at Nottingham last time and may be a shade high in the weights. Compton Rose is less exposed than her rivals after just three starts but she does not look to be particularly well treated and a better bet seems to be the consistent Comptonspirit, who gets the vote.
