In depth

Verdict

Algharb should go close in this competitive sprint, with Indian Trail, Ice Planet, Ingleby Arch and My Gacho just a few more in with claims. Algharb has ground conditions in his favour and lines up on the back of a successful return to the fray on the Kempton Polytrack recently. That will have put him spot on for this, and with his stable in red-hot form, he should make a bold bid to land the spoils. Indian Trail ran a blinder from a bad draw in the Wokingham, getting within five lengths of Baltic King despite meeting early interference, and if anyone can improve horses from other stables, it is definitely Dandy Nichols who landed this event in 2001 with Undeterred. Stablemate Ice Planet has by all accounts been laid out for this but his overall form leaves him with a little bit to find. Nevertheless he is going to be a danger along with Ingleby Arch who got no sort of run in the William Hill Trophy at York and was heavily eased. He is better than that and should go well. His stablemate My Gacho has done little wrong of late and is worth his place in the line-up, while the likes of Fantasy Believer and Looks Could Kill have outside claims. Algharb has more to offer though and can pay to follow in the big sprints this year.
