In depth

Verdict

Flying Clarets is given the vote in this maiden with Hunting Haze and Our Shelia rated as the main dangers. Flying Clarets has shown enough in her three runs to date to make her the one to beat, and if she can run up to the mark that saw her finish third behind Romantic Evening at York last time then that should suffice. Hunting Haze shaped well on his debut when a good fourth behind Robustian at Doncaster. He is sure to come on for that run and he should not be far away at the finish. Our Shelia has shown a decent level of form in her three runs to date and with the step-up in trip expected to play to her strengths she looks to have a solid each-way chance. The Dunion and Show Thyme are interesting newcomers worth a second look in the market but for the winner we return to Flying Clarets.
