      Verdict

Keith Reveley's Jass has struggled under big weights this season and probably needs some help from the handicapper despite having been dropped 2lbs since his most recent start and a better bet looks to be OPEN DE L'ISLE, who gets the vote over Mr Prickle. Richard Newland's gelding bounced back to winning ways when successful at Warwick at the end of January and he has every chance on ground that suits but is now 7lbs higher than at Warwick and may be too high in the weights now. Alison Hamilton's Silver Sedge has been well held in recent starts and of more interest may be Lucinda Russell's Et Maintenant, who has been running consistently well of late. Malko de Beaumont was pulled up on testing ground at Haydock last time and looks best watched in a race taken to go to Open de L'Isle. James Ewart's gelding can race off the same mark as when successful over hurdles at Hexham last time in December and he looks worth chancing back over the larger obstacles.
