In depth

Verdict

Charlie Bucket is still a maiden but went very close at Kelso last time when just caught in the dying strides over 3m1f. Mister Pete scored twice over 2m4f here in the spring and has no problems with the slightly longer trip though he's now 10lb higher. Thatlldoforme is another who scored over 2m4f around here early last year and is on the short-list while both Lukey Luke and Cosmetic have always looked as though this trip would suit and are at the right end of the handicap. Graham Lee was on board when TOO COOL TO FOOL led at the last and stayed on stoutly to land a handicap at Ayr over 3m1f last week. A 7lb penalty makes this tougher but he can reverse an earlier defeat by Mister Pete on this track and complete a quick double.
