    Verdict

MARK ANTHONY was impressive when scoring at Pontefract last time and he is fancied to take this drop to the minimum trip in his stride and defy a 6lb penalty. Kevin Ryan's charge was in total command from some way out that day and a repeat effort is likely to be good enough. Jack Luey is 3lbs higher than his recent Carlisle win and is at least a confirmed 5f performer, so he can't be underestimated, though he does not look to have the scope of our pick. Mottley Crewe is going the right way, though the drop in trip may not suit so well, while conversely Lees Anthem goes well at 5f and has been given a squeak by the assessor. Even so, Mark Anthony is preferred in what is not the strongest of contests. (Jonathan Doidge)
