In depth

Verdict

Last year’s Cumberland Lodge winner over 1m4f, STAR STORM has yet to race over 2m. But he has every chance on last month’s second at Kempton to Western Hymn, rated 110, if staying the trip. Oriental Fox has won both the Cesarewitch and the Queen Alexandra at Ascot in his time so there are no doubts about him staying. But he ran poorly on his all-weather debut over 2m at Kempton recently when First Mohican was also well beaten. Steve Rogers and Winning Story occupied the places in that Kempton contest and both could go well in this along with Gang Warfare, who will appreciate the return to this surface.
