In depth

Verdict

Baraweez finished ahead of Alfred Hutchinson and Mothers Finest at York last month but the latter pair have both posted better efforts since then. Father Bertie won a similar grade handicap at Redcar last year but has not raced since third at Ripon in April while Si Senor and Jacob Black still look too high in the weights. The consistent Mont Ras usually finds at least one too good and that was the case at Wolverhampton in November when runner-up to HOME CUMMINS (NAP). The latter scored off today’s mark on that occasion and a recent fourth at Musselburgh suggests Richard Fahey’s filly is set to run a big race in this.
