In depth

Verdict

With Mick Channon's team in such good form at present, Millennium Force has to be respected but Imperial Echo has more solid claims on recent form and he is preferred with Hartshead rated the best of the remainder. The selection is better than his last time out run in the Bunbury Cup would suggest and looks worth another chance judged by previous winning efforts here and at York. Along The Nile is not certain to appreciate the drop back to seven furlongs, while Breaking Shadow could probably do with some help from the handicapper. Malcheek is held by the selection on Newmarket running and of more interest may be Hartshead, who has plenty of weight but is, like a lot of Alan Swinbank's horses, very much in form right now. Imperial Echo is in better form than most though and he is the obvious choice.
