Plenty of interesting types on show, but Mostaqeleh stands out as the form horse after showing promise in the face of some stiff tests so far. Nantyglo and Short Dance are expected to be in the thick of the action, while Tiana and Scottish Stage are also interesting from the rest. Another to bear in mind for the future is La Mottie, who held a Fillies Mile entry at one stage, so is obviously held in some high regard. She does have a bit to find in the context of this race, though, and others make more appeal at this stage of their development. It is hard to weigh up Scottish Stage's debut, as she was tardy from the stalls and met trouble in running before going on to win a shade cosily. There is surely more to come from this well-bred filly and she is well worth noting in the betting. As is Tiana, whose yard can do little wrong at present. This daughter of Diktat fits a typical profile in that she improve from her first outing to win well at Folkestone last month. That form may not amount to much at this stage but she is still entitled to respect. Nantyglo has threatened to win a race before too long and should be capable of throwing down a strong challenge. However, she does not look the most resolute of battlers and may be one to be wary of in this company. Short Dance showed the benefit of experience by scoring here at the start of last month. She has a good attitude and can make this a good test. However, she has a bit to find with Mostaqeleh, who comfortably had her measure when they met at Newbury in August. The John Dunlop-trained filly looks a really promising type for next season and a bold show from her could bring her into the argument for a return here for the 1,000 Guineas next May.
