No favourite has won this for nine years. Top Tug went up 10lb for scoring here last May and didn't run again until October where he found trouble in-running over 1m4f. He's open to considerable improvement but this could just be on the short side. Paul Nicholls has a rare runner over this sort of trip in All Set To Go, who wasn't beaten far in a Navan Group 3 just over a year ago and has run just once for new connections over timber. Bronze Angel won the Cambridgeshire on fast ground here then followed up in testing conditions in a lucrative Ascot handicap. A couple of recent runs will have put him straight and he's no forlorn hope to carry his big weight to victory. Balty Boys was behind in the Cambridgeshire but arrives in good form after a very encouraging reappearance over a trip too short at Thirsk. EDUCATE hasn't won since the 2013 Cambridgeshire but he's been performing in pattern race company and has now dropped to exactly the same mark so William Buick can steer him home. This is the right trip for Spirit Of The Law though he's been climbing the weights without winning. Angelic Upstart has won six races, though never in this grade, and Persona Grata has only raced at Wolverhampton.
