Verdict

WATERLOO BRIDGE took a while to warm up but, after landing a Tipperary maiden, he won the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot. He's had a break since then and is tackling an extra two furlongs but his overall form is much the best of these. Zhui Feng landed a Kempton maiden and was well supported in another big Tattersalls Sales race here last month and came home a clear-cut winner. The extra furlong is a bonus and Amanda Perrett's charge looks a big threat. Nimr started favourite in that latter event but couldn't quite go the pace and he's another certain to be suited by the extra. Gifted Master was a comfortable winner at Newcastle after just being touched off by the useful Buratino on this track and Pat Smullen is an intriguing booking. East Indies made all for a facile victory at Kempton though that was over 1m2f and the Godolphin colt takes a big drop in trip.
