    Verdict

COUNTRY WESTERN won his maiden at Kempton in March before landing what looked a tough Ripon handicap. He's gone up 5lb for that but is progressing so nicely that it shouldn't prevent a hat-trick. Ayaar is entitled to the greatest respect having run in the National Stakes last season and making a promising reappearance behind Garswood in the Free Handicap. Glean couldn't cope with One Word More at Kempton and will need to do better but Discernable is taking a marked drop in class and is by no means out of this. Azrur didn't appear to handle the very fast ground in a Haydock Listed event after his Doncaster victory and starts off on what looks a fair mark.
