      Verdict

      St Michel landed a moderate handicap over this trip at Beverley with ease so it was a bit disappointing to see him caught by Parliamentarian over 1m6f at Sandown, when Stetchworth Park was a couple of lengths back in third, and he's gone up again in the weights. He was conceding Scarpeta 2lb when beating him just over two lengths at Chelmsford in June but the latter must have a chance of turning the tables on 9lb better terms. Safira Menina has only won at Class 6 level while Jacob Cats' two victories in June were gained in Class 5 races. Planetoid ran a cracking race over 2m5f at Goodwood but may just be a couple of pounds high so the vote in a very tricky finale goes to SEE AND BE SEEN, whose last victory was from this mark and who ran his best race for a very long time when a close fourth at Ascot last month.
