      Verdict

Chain Of Events carries a 6lb penalty for last week's Sandown victory and has been well beaten off this mark in the past. Red Lover was having his first start over the trip when unlucky in-running at Sandown and should go close while another penalised runner Searing Heat is on the upgrade judging by his victory at Ripon. Lieutenant Kojak ran well on heavy ground last time and has a Polytrack victory to his credit so he isn't out of this but further rain would greatly enhance the prospects of Cairanne, a winner on testing ground at Yarmouth and just touched off by Resplendent Light at Newbury. RED SHUTTLE hasn't had much experience but ran a fine race behind Knowe Head here last month and can gain his first success from just 2lb higher.
