In depth

Verdict

Four for the short list here are Scandal Keeper, Spearit, You Call That Art and Celeritas, and we will go for Godolphin's Scandal Keeper to come good. The Danzig colt has his second outing over track and trip, and should improve sufficiently for his second to Tell at the end of August and be good enough to land this uninspiring maiden. Admittedly, the form of his only run thus far has not worked out too well, but there is little else jumping out off the page. Richard Hannon saddles You Call That Art, and with three runs already under his belt, he may not have the scope for as much improvement as the selection, nor has he achieved as much on the racecourse. Spearit represents the David Elsworth yard, and he has not set the world alight at two, but has enough form on the board to suggest he can make the frame. Surely though, we will see better from him at three and beyond. Of the remainder, Celeritas could have some each-way appeal, and his latest effort can be forgiven as he had no luck in running. Even so, it is difficult to see him being good enough to win this, and out selection to do that is Scandal Keeper.
