In depth

Verdict

Corum can come out on top over Celtique, Sualda, Authority and Sweet Indulgence. Corum let his supporters down here last time when sixth of nine behind Group Captain but looked a promising sort when opening his account at Sandown the time before, and is taken to make amends. It must be pointed out that he was well beaten on soft going on his debut here last October, but he would have needed the run anyway, and is given the benefit of the doubt, being by Galileo who had no problem handling cut in the ground. Celtique was expertly placed to score again here by Michael Wigham a fortnight ago, and she appears to have thrived since leaving Sir Michael Stoute. Sualda has plenty of weight and has only won on faster going in the past though, so is not one to put the mortgage on, but Authority handled cut when winning at Yarmouth last year. Sweet Indulgence is a standing dish here and was successful in similar conditions 12 months ago, so will have his supporters. Corum has plenty more to offer though and can pay to follow.
