In depth

Verdict

Orlando Rogue was always in command when landing a Yarmouth maiden in good style in July though the form hasn't worked out particularly well. Azmaam had been a beaten favourite three times before landing a Chester maiden on ground with some give. He should improve again but may find the concession of 12lb, including the jockey's claim, to BLACK GRANITE. He'd shown nothing in three maidens but the step-up to 7f and a first-time visor did the trick at Salisbury and a follow-up looks on the cards. Prince Gagarin won a novices' race here before finishing last in the Acomb Stakes at York while Landwade Lad will need to find a bit more on his handicap debut.
