In depth

Verdict

A further step up in trip will almost certainly suit easy Doncaster winner Pirate King, who is unexposed and makes his handicap debut. West Coast Flyer has won four times on the all-weather but his efforts on Turf so far have left a bit to be desired. It would be no surprise to see STAR OF THE EAST bounce back to winning ways, despite sharing top weight. He’s only a pound higher than when successful at Chester in May and he handles all types of going with equal aplomb. None of the others make much appeal on recent form.
