For the valuable Sales race the short-listed three are Caldra, Tobosa and Tudor Prince, with the first-named horse getting the vote. Caldra has clearly benefited from his gelding operation and improved to land a Listed race last time. The underfoot conditions should be okay for him and he can go well today. Tobosa has proven tough and talented and, also, a good money-spinner this season and a good run is on the cards. Mount Hermon is a potential improver coming into this and it would be no surprise to see him go well, while Passified holds a fairly-similar profile coming here on the back of a win, though, at Pontefract. It would be no surprise to see Richard Hannon's Aegean Sunrise improve on his debut effort. With his form rating in the mid to high-80s, you cannot rule out a good show from El Bosque, and Tudor Prince showed his liking for these conditions when winning over course and distance last time and gets a good shout. Another Brian Meehan runner, Chataway, has a progressive profile and, with Frankie Dettori booked, could go well. We'll Come was beaten five lengths by him there, although that was his debut. Second in an all-weather Group 3 two runs ago, La Neige will probably appreciate the drop back to six furlongs from last time and has the basic form to be seriously considered, while Aahayson is a solid 80-plus performer who could bag some money. Overall, though, we will side with Caldra.
