A far from straight forward affair given the likelihood of inclement overnight weather so Magical Wonderland rates as a tentative pick ahead of Escoffier and Hiddensee. The selection has bits and pieces of back form that reads well in the context of a moderate race and while a three year absence makes it a long time between drinks, Liam Corcoran has done well with others' cast offs in the past. Escoffier shapes as if staying a trip on the evidence of flat runs but isn't the heartiest in a finish. Softening ground would hardly be ideal. Hiddensee has his own ideas about the racing game and would rate a player if consenting to put his best foot forward. Bouzouki refused to race on his latest start while Haydon Lady is related to a number of useful performers from the past. Not a strong race and in the absence of market information, Magical Wonderland is the recommendation.
