In depth

Verdict

A closely matched group in terms of ability have been drawn together here and Mr Velocity is only a tentative choice to lead home the likes of Lady Georgina, Arzeme and Bethanys Boy, who are hard to split as viable alternatives. However, Mr Velocity has already paid his way with a string of placed efforts and is the archetypal horse that now deserves a change of fortune. His trainer, Alec Stewart, has not over faced him when seeking out options for the son of Tagula and this more conventional race looks to be a good platform for the four-year-old to launch himself into winning ways. Lady Georgina has a handy fillies allowance and will be dangerous to dismiss if there is solid support behind her today - even though she will do well to overhaul Mr Velocity now that Seb Sanders will be doing the steering.
