In depth

Verdict

The short list for the opener contains Wiggy Smith, Easibet Dot Net, Montara and Rossin Gold, with the vote going to Wiggy Smith. Wiggy Smith looks the one to beat based on his Market Rasen win. Easibet Dot Net showed enough on his hurdling debut to be considered, while Irish raider Montara has to be of some interest being unexposed over hurdles. Humorous showed promise here over course and distance back in May and has to be given some thought, as does Rossin Gold, who has already won a handicap rated 96. Finally, Milliesome was showing promise in bumpers three years ago, but clearly something has not been quite right since. Once again, then, we return to the selection, Wiggy Smith.
