This looks to rest between Last Pioneer, Middleton Dene and Baileys Encore, with Last Pioneer taken to concede weight all round. Middleton Dene was returning from a lay off when chasing home Programme Girl last time, and although the winner has won twice since to frank the form, Middleton Dene has looked a little one paced previously and is taken on here. Baileys Encore left Irish form behind when finishing a good second in a handicap hurdle here last time. He travelled well for much of the way on that occasion, but was unable to quicken in the closing stages. Dropping back half a mile in trip here may help his cause and he looks set to go well. Last Pioneer is a maiden on the Flat and had shown little over hurdles until his last two starts for the in form Richard Ford. He won a selling handicap hurdle at Cartmel, before following up in good style at the same track in a conditional jockeys¿ affair. The faster ground seemed to be a key factor, and Last Pioneer is taken to complete the hat trick.
