Landecker was only fifth last year but wasn’t beaten far and wouldn’t be without a chance. MY OLD GOLD came good over hurdles at Carlisle at the fourth time of asking having been placed in his first three. His margin of victory would have been greater had he not blundered at the last and he should confirm that form with third Aengus on the way to doubling his tally. Skipthescales has already won three times last season but has little margin for error off his new mark while Rivabodiva had little to beat when making all at Newcastle. Letemgo is looking in the handicapper’s grip while Allthegear No Idea always seems to find a way of getting beat.
