In depth

Verdict

Shortest Day gets the confident vote in this fillies' handicap with Damelza and Distinctive Look the dangers. The selection won well at Windsor last season when beating Charlie Tokyo. She gave the impression that there would be more to come from her this season and with her yard in decent form she gets the nomination. Damelza was a little disappointing on her seasonal reappearance at Ripon but she will come on for that run and she will also be suited by the return to this faster surface so she does hold claims. Distinctive Look ran well when second behind Divine River at Newbury last time but she will need to improve to make the frame in this more competitive contest. Missoula won at a big price last season and does have ability so she could be another that is of interest, but for the winner we will stick with Shortest Day.
