From a shortlist containing Crosby Vision, Greek Secret, Ours, Military Cross, Amy Louise, Jamieson Gold and Loch Awe, we will side with Jamieson Gold in this maiden. The Barry Hills-trained selection has finished second - but has performed with credit - on each start to date, and the form of those races certainly makes him a contender in what is an interesting maiden. Crosby Vision cost 27,000 guineas and has interesting breeding, so pay some heed to him, while Greek Secret is another to consider, having improved from run one to two and with the sixth furlong looking sure to suit. Brian Smart's juveniles are often worth a look, and he runs Il Castagno, while the Willie Jarvis debutant Military Cross also catches the eye. That comment also applies to Ours, a 38,000 guineas half-brother to Mine, while Prince Of Love has shown some promise, but others are preferred. The David Barron-trained Amy Louise got the hang of things late on on her debut and can improve again, but Cherish might need the run, while Heads Turn and Loch Awe are certainly not forlorn hopes on breeding. It all ads up to an interesting race, in which the betting should be watched with interest, and in which the vote goes to Jamieson Gold.
