Verdict

CORREGGIO has won better class handicaps than this here and at York in the past few weeks and, though arriving here with a penalty, will be very difficult to beat. Pertuis scored at this level in April and, though now 5lb higher, showed that he is in good form with his victory at Catterick a fortnight ago, though both of those wins were over 1m4f. He was behind Qibtee over this track and trip in June and Les Eyre's charge returned here to run well over a longer trip so should be kept on the right side. Dark Diamond went into the lead at this trip at Brighton last time before fading over the extra quarter-mile and has more to do.
