        Verdict

        Roger Varian's horses are flying and though Parish hasn't shown much on soft ground the quicker going could bring about some improvement. PUMAFLOR (NAP) landed a 7f handicap at Thirsk and went there on Wednesday with a favourite's chance from just 3lb higher. He didn't quite get the run of the race that time and can make amends from the same mark. Officer Sydney didn't show much in maidens but produced a much improved effort when staying on strongly over this trip at Windsor and normal progress will see him in the firing-line. Blackfoot Brave was beaten seven lengths when runner-up at Thirsk and will need to do better.
