    In depth

    Verdict

Royal Jet has plenty going for him and is fancied to have what it takes to get the better of Best Prospect and St Savarin, while Crow Wood would also be a threat if he were to recapture any of last season's sparkling form. Crow Wood is a versatile type that can still be a force at this level. However recent form indicates that the handicapper is in charge for the time being and he looks vulnerable from the top of the weights. St Savarin has run into form of late and can give each-way backers a good run for their money. Any rain would be a big plus for him. Best Prospect benefited from a great ride from Jamie Spencer when scoring at Newmarket last month and has to be respected on that form. However, he is now 4lb higher in the weights and needs everything to fall into place for him. Therefore, we prefer to take a chance with Royal Jet, who takes a slight drop in class today and will be a tough nut to crack if he runs to the form of his recent second at Ascot.
