Verdict

CROSSE FIRE ran 16 times at Southwell after December before reverting to Turf off a much lower mark and scoring at Beverley. He's only been raised 3lb and is still 12lb lower than on the all-weather so looks the one to be on. Jack Luey has been narrowly beaten in his last two starts but is creeping up the ratings without winning. Jacob's Pillow beat the in-form The Armed Man at Beverley with Archimedes a close third. The winner is just 3lb higher and will make a bold bid to complete a double though Pearl Acclaim has dropped to a fair mark and looks a threat. Show Palace has the inside berth and was having only his second start since October when runner-up at Thirsk so he's another to consider in an open finale.
