    Verdict

About half the field have claims in this handicap and although Rare Ruby is in red-hot form, we feel the assessor might just have her in his grubby mitts now so preference is for AMEEQ, who should benefit from this step up in trip while Spiders Star remains of interest. Better known as a hurdler these days, the pick carried over his good form from that sphere onto the level last time with a pleasing run in second place over an inadequate trip. His best performances over timber have all come with this type of stamina test, so off a good looking mark he can score. Rare Ruby is hat-trick hunting but because of her decent run of form the handicapper has now had his say plus she is also yet win over this far. Spiders Star was given a bit too much to do last time has he stayed on without really challenging when falling short of his own hat-trick bid. If racing closer to the pace this time he should be in the picture. Secret Ploy is weighted to mount a challenge and has no worries on the stamina front but if running up to his hurdles form, Ameeq should land this.
