Verdict

EARTH SISTER came in for good support on her debut at Roscommon though not as much as the winner Last Goodbye. Peter Fahey's filly couldn't match her rival for stamina in the closing stages but the pair pulled a long way clear of the remainder and compensation awaits. Petuna was a 50/1 chance on her debut in July but belied the odds with a fine run and wasn't beaten far when third at Wexford a couple of weeks later. Glendine River was four lengths behind in that latter race and has since finished runner-up three times on quicker going. Blazes Peg started favourite for her debut at Clonmel earlier this month where she looked as though a stiffer test of stamina was required though she should reverse places with the much more experiences Cashelard Lady, who finished just in front of her.
