In depth

Verdict

Gordon Elliott's recruit from France, Un Beau Matin, is a very intriguing entry on his debut here as he won a Listed race for newcomers at Auteuil last month and could be anything, though the form of that race hasn't worked out brilliantly. David Pipe won this last year so Nicky Henderson will be hoping to take away the spoils via Soliwery, who was quickly pulled up in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham after an early mistake. Liberty's Gift is still a maiden over timber and is held by Dysios on last month's Navan run while The Gondolier and Leroy Parker were well behind Ballynacree at Fairyhouse. LOCH ARD will need to raise his game but looks to have more scope than most of these and looked happy on the testing ground at Gowran so he's handed the vote.
