In depth

Verdict

This provides Jack The Giant with an ideal platform to get off the mark; possibly with the most to fear from Gjovic and Rowan Warning out of those with experience. That is not to dismiss the challenge of the Godolphin-owned newcomer Jalldee, who is half-brother to UAE seven furlong dirt winner Kondoty. The ground should not be a problem for this son of Green Desert and he is a obvious one to watch in the betting. Brockhole also catches the eye on pedigree and he is expected to improve on his debut run. However, he switches to turf for the first time and his introduction looks a risky piece of form to take on face value here. Rowan Warning is a consistent type that should again run his race. He came up against a useful type last time but, as his previous form is nothing out of the ordinary, he now looks exposed. The same has to be said of Gjovic, who will be racing for the twentieth time in public. However, he is a battler and it as more to do with misfortune than attitude that he has not won a race before now. still, the concession of 6lb to all bar one of his rivals leaves him vulnerable again and he needs everything to finally go right for him here. Therefore, it can pay to turn to Jack The Giant, who still has scope to improve over a trip that should be ideal for him. His trainer, Barry Hills, has been in terrific form in the last fortnight. So another bold bid is expected from Jack The Giant today.
