Verdict

Plenty of the runners come into this ultra competitive handicap on form but we'll opt to support WHITE DEER, who looks good value for his mark rise after victory last time and he should confirm his superiority over Opus Maximus while the assessor might just stop Collateral Damage completing a four timer. A winner by four lengths over course and distance last time the pick has seen his burden increase by six pounds and while this is tougher he's held his own at this level in the past so while in this mood we'll take our chance again. Mountain Cat is another we can throw into calculations here with Alan Swinbank's charge in top order at the moment and he still looks well weighted with a top conditional removing five pounds from his load. Collateral Damage is now 10lbs higher than when starting his winning sequence and although his pilot's claim makes his new mark more manageable he only just got home last time. A very good contest this where White Deer is a marginal pick.
