Verdict

It will be interesting to see how Thirsk maiden winner Thatcherite copes pitched in against older horses, but LAW TO HIMSELF is also worth a second look having been well backed at Musselburgh last month. Alan Swinbank's four-year-old had Silvery Moon well behind when scoring at Ripon last year and looks nicely treated now so gets the nod. The Osteopath and Cono Zur are both previous C&D winners and often placed at this level, and Cara's Request wouldn't be far away on last year's form though would probably prefer a bit more give in the ground. Elusive Sue won at Carlisle in June but this is her first try over a mile.
