        Verdict

        Atrocious ground means no starting stalls and a flag start for the first three races. FIRST SARGEANT was spotted doing his best work in the closing stages of his debut over 6f at Yarmouth. It was heavy going on that occasion and he'll appreciate today's longer trip. Hawk High was a well-beaten fifth on his debut in similar underfoot conditions while Sword Of The Lord, Halfwaytocootehill and The Mighty Peg all finished down the field in the same soft ground maiden at Doncaster last time. Chevalgris and Rapscallion Deep make most appeal of the newcomers.
