        Verdict

        Saeed Bin Suroor won this contest in 2009 with a well-backed favourite and Frankie Dettori's visit to the track can be rewarded with victory for BADEEL. He's a full brother to a horse who made a winning debut and there's plenty of stamina in the pedigree to suggest that 1m1f is an ideal starting point, so providing the market indicates a big run is expected we're happy to pin our hopes on this well-related sort. Fellow newcomer Ullswater has a pedigree that suggests he'll do better in time, as many from the yard do, but again market signals should be heeded ahead of his introduction. Mojolika needs to improve upon his debut to feature and may need rain to enable him to do so, while Clive Brittain's Abjer can surely only improve for the extra yardage but may be better served by nurseries. Defence Of Duress completes the shortlist after a promising debut but ground conditions aren't likely to suit him and a watching brief is advised.
