Verdict

There appear to be very few contenders with realistic claims of shedding their maiden tag in this race and PARADISE SPECTRE would appear to be the one to beat as he is rated 13lbs clear of Tsar Bomba, his nearest rival at the ratings. Elaine Burke's charge returned a beaten favourite on his second career start when turned over by Awzaan and it's been pretty much downhill since then although he has contested decent handicaps the last twice and should find this less taxing. Tim Easterby has got his hands on this trophy on a couple of occasions of late but Hairy Maclary will need to benefit from this drop back in trip if he's to open his account. The well bred Watch The Flame has her first start for a new yard so merits a market check whilst Hambleton has run well here and may improve for headgear.
