In depth

Verdict

Patch Patch has performed well in a couple of his runs this year and Bronze Beau stands a chance on the pick of his ability but we side with SHARP ECLIPSE who has a hat-trick of runner-up efforts this year to go one better and snatch the win. The selection went off favourite at Yarmouth when last seen in Handicap company and although losing out on that occasion last month this represents another good opportunity to finally lose that maiden tag. He has a good draw and can claim that elusive win. Patch Patch beat Taborcillo back in May and has claims for this race based on that effort. Bronze Beau has one win from sixteen starts and although that sole win was earlier this month he only beat lower rated opposition that day and he may find this contest a tougher test. Taborcillo runs in a first-time visor and will be looking for improvement after a poor try at Newmarket. Although running at the top of the handicap we side with Sharp Eclipse to finish first.
