      Verdict

This is a competitive handicap that can go the way of Rigat, with Spinning and Middlemarch rated as the main dangers. The selection was returning from a break when a fair third behind High Voltage at Newcastle last time. He will relish today's ground conditions and with the useful Neil Brown taking off a handy 7lbs he is taken to continue the good form of his stable. Stable companion Spinning rates the main danger on his latest fourth behind Stolen Glance but that rival was beaten on Wednesday at Hamilton and although Spinning has won with cut in the ground his very best form is on a faster surface. Middlesmarch would have claims on his best form but he looks to be in the grip of the handicapper at present so is opposed. Pay Time was a fair third behind Kudbeme last time when he was doing his best work at the finish so he should relish this extra distance. However, his overall profile leaves him with a little to find and we prefer the claims of Rigat who can get his head in front.
