In depth

Verdict

Campbeltown has arguably looked better on the all-weather than the turf so far and he looks worth taking on with preference for Figjam, who gets the vote ahead of John Claude. The last mentioned made virtually all to win a Beverley claimer over the stiff five furlongs there last time but this is not an easy six and this looks tougher anyway. David Barron's Ingleby Arch showed improved form at Ayr last time and would be of interest if the market spoke in his favour, while Sometimes Lucky is becoming expensive to follow and Jenny Soba faces no easy task first time out. The vote then goes to Figjam, who has been performing well in nurseries of late and looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to resume winning ways.
