Mr Wolf could hardly have been more impressive when scoring over Pontefract's stiff five furlongs last time and a 10lb rise may not be enough to prevent David Barker's gelding from following up so he is preferred to another in-form rival Inter Vision and Ice Planet. The last mentioned represents the master of sprint handicappers David Nicholls so has to be respected, especially from his draw next to the far side rails. He looks to hold the best chance of the Nicholls trio ahead of Pieter Brueghel and Native Title. Hidden Dragon is another with a fair draw and showed signs of a revival last time, while Mine Behind comes here on a hat-trick but has more to do than when winning races at Newmarket and Newbury in his last two starts. River Falcon hails from the in-form yard of Jim Goldie so has to be respected, especially from his high draw, while Russian Symphony could be better berthed. Tim Easterby's Artie resumed winning way sat Beverley earlier this week and just gets into the handicap with his 4lb penalty but could be better berthed and of more interest is Inter Vision who has done little wrong of late and is entitled to be thereabouts again, although he could be better berthed. The vote though goes to Mr Wolf, who has a decent draw, stays six furlongs well and could hardly be in better form.
