In depth

Verdict

The recent form of Lets Roll looks good enough to give him the edge over Magnetic Pole and Party Ploy, who will not make it easy for the selection. Neither will Sporting Gesture if he can bounce back to something like his best on a track that he, quite surprisingly for Mick Easterby-trained horse of his age, has limited experience of. Northside Lodge also appears to need his enthusiasm rekindling and he may be best watched for the time being, while Aleron has been held off this mark lately and need some assistance from the handicapper. Magnetic Pole, another lightly raced type from Sir Michael Stoute's yard, is fancied to give the selection the most to do. The Machiavellian colt has finished in the frame in all his previous starts and could clearly be a handicap snip in this sort of company. However, he is unlikely to represent much value and is only a saver option today. Which brings us back to Lets Roll, who arrives here at the top of his game and has an unquestionable attitude after forcing his head in front last time. In summary then: a cautious eye should be cast over the betting market - with a small stakes investment in the experience of Lets Roll. With the hope that the prices allow us to play him against the handicap debutante Magnetic Pole and take chance with the best of both worlds.
