Verdict

Myrtle Bay and Grand Opera have identical BHB ratings and both warrant respect first time out this term but preference is for Dream Prize, who is taken to step up on the form of his only start. The selection showed promise on his debut at Windsor earlier this month over a similar trip to today's and Sir Michael Stoute's son of Peintre Celebre is entitled to come on a bundle for that outing. Macorville has ground conditions to suit and could improve for being stepped up in trip on his return. George Moore's gelding would have claims if fit enough, while Luck In Running gave little sign of encouragement on his debut but that was under testing conditions and Mark Johnston's colt may do better on this faster ground. Myrtle Bay has solid claims on the pick of his juvenile form but is not certain to stay this far and of more interest may be Grand Opera, especially now that the yard of Howard Johnson is back among the winners. Dream Prize is potentially different class to these though and he gets the vote.
