Verdict

New Pearl has been generally campaigned at a higher level and no one would begrudge David Brown's grey a second victory here. But his rivals have fewer miles on the clock and Mutazamen is still improving judged on his wins at Newmarket and Kempton, though is conceding 3lb and upwards to his rivals. BRETON ROCK was very green on his debut over C&D in August but found a nice turn of foot to get on top inside the final furlong and, though the runner-up has let the form down since, could be capable of upsetting his more exposed rivals today. Alcando has won a couple of times at Bath but more is needed in this company while Kodatish faces a tough task at the weights. Reg Hollinshead's newcomer Divine Reward could also struggle.
