Verdict

An intriguing contest, despite the small field. Four of the six runners arrive off the back of recent victories with REX BELL the most impressive in a maiden at Windsor. That was on soft going so conditions here will hold no fears and he'd come up against decent performers in his previous two starts. Master Blueyes, on the other hand, still has a bit to prove on the ground but Haydock scorer Marmajuke Bay won’t be inconvenienced and makes more appeal than course and distance winner The Graduate in this grade. Mainstream never figured at Haydock last time but is reunited here with Ryan Moore while Combative wasn't far behind Ascot winner Primitivo at Sandown last month.
