In depth

Verdict

Double Aspect catches the eye here ahead of Shastye, Warningcamp, Zuma, Michabo and Historic Place. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained selection finished fourth to Remaad in a fair maiden on his racecourse debut and that experience should not be lost on this half-brother to the useful Inglenook. Accordingly, he looks the one to beat. Historic Place shaped well on his Flat debut at Haydock and must also be considered, while Michabo, who ought to appreciate this type of trip, shaped encouragingly at Windsor last time and, particularly if he settles better today, can play a part in proceedings. Add to the list the Lady Herries-trained Warningcamp, who shaped with promise on his Sandown debut, Richard Hannon's Zuma, who has also shown promise and might improve for the application of a visor, and John Gosden's Shastye, who is a half-sister to the Arc winner Sagamix and other high-class performers, and who was noted making late headway at Windsor on her racecourse debut. She looks interesting and should win races, but for today, we like the look of Double Aspect.
